Our focus this quarter is two-fold as our titles, of which there are two, suggest. "A Child is Given" is a course of four sessions that focuses on God's gift of a child as the means by which God's people hear the story of grace and redemption. Our study takes us through some familiar territory: 1 Samuel, Matthew, and Luke with side trips to other Old and New Testament passages. "Lessons from Life" sets the tone and pace for the next course of two units in our study. Unit 1 is all about Job in his integrity, persistence, steadfastness and encounter with God. Unit 2 consists of five sessions from Ecclesiastes, The Song of Solomon, and Esther. A very interesting study that will give way to discussion and probing ideas in the personal lives of the participants. This is the Leader's Guide. |
