Description: Preview comments by Rev. Marshall Campbell--This program in "adult theological re-education" is based on the book of the same title by Marcus Borg. In each of the ten sessions Borg develops issues in which the scriptures are taken seriously but not literally. Some of Borg's phrases may be forbidding at first, i.e. "precritical naivete" and "postcritical naivete." Bottom line: participants should be willing to engage the Bible at deeper levels. Reward: uncovering biblical truth which is insightful, persuasive, and powerful, all-beit metaphorical and not literal. Each of the ten sessions assume a class time of 2-hours in order to take full advantage of the interactive and experiential aspects of the lessons but each DVD segment is only between 7-12 minutes in length. Includes guide.
