Description: Each year, the Christmas season compels people to ask the Christmas questions.Who was the baby in the manger? What does his birth have to do with me? Of all the responses to these questions, there is one that stands out from the rest: Because of Bethlehem, God knows what it is like to be a human. When we talk to God about our challenges, our struggles, and our tough times, he understands, because he's been there. He's been here.

Because of Bethlehem, we have a Savior in heaven. Because of Bethlehem, we have the promise God is always near us. Always for us. Always in us. We may forget him, but he never forgets us.

The four lessons are
Session 1: God Has A Face - Society has always wondered what God looks like; God chose to come to us in the face of a child and walk with us through all the trials and joys of becoming an adult. God triumphed through Mary. Everything changes when we look upon the face of God.
Session 2: Worship Works Wonders - What do you worship? What do you put all your hopes into that it will make you happy forever? The first visitors to the manger gave the gift of worship; the angels also gave their worship. Worship is telling God you love Him. There is something wonderful that happens in corporate worship. Lucado tells the story of the innkeeper.
Session 3: God Guides The Wise - Just as children love to dress up and play the roles of all the characters of Christmas, especially the wise men, God is calling us to do a "magi journey" through life. Christmas and travel have gone together ever since the wise men went seeking for the Christ child. Lucado contrasts the "journey" of Herod and the wise men. When God sends the "heavenly signs" may we look up as the wise men did and follow.
Session 4: Every Heart A Manger - The Christmas tree is the symbol of Christmas family gatherings and presents received and given. The story of Christmas is the story of God's relentless pursuit to save each one of us. Jesus bore all our sins on a "tree." The tree is a symbol in Christianity of new life, whether a Christmas tree or a crucifixion tree.
